ABOUT SOLENT SAILING

Solent Sailing operates out of Premier Marinas, Gosport, home to the Clipper Round The World fleet and hundreds of years sailing heritage. We are ideally located for The Solent. It is also a great starting point for exploring the south coast, hopping across the channel to France and the Channel Islands.

All our charters are skippered, allowing you to enjoy the experience, giving you peace of mind that you and your group are in safe, professional hands. Solent Sailing’s aim is to provide you with a superb and memorable experience.

Our fully qualified skippers will work out an itinerary to suit the timescale of the charter, where you would like to go and weather conditions. Many of our customers come to build up their sailing hours (mile building) and hone their skills before a summer charter in the Mediterranean or Caribbean.

Skippers Hugh and Pete

Hugh holds an RYA Yacht-Master qualification with many miles under his belt. He is passionate about sailing and a great team player. He is happy to pass on his knowledge and experiences or equally to chill out and talk about local history.

Pete holds an RYA Day Skipper qualification and working towards his Yacht-Master. He has lived by the sea for most of his life and is a keen fisherman.

OUR YACHT - GALAXY

Galaxy is a Bavaria 36, built for comfort and performance.

The internal layout is traditional with 3 cabins and 2 saloon berths, sleeping up to 8. The interior has all the features you would expect of an excellent cruising yacht - ideal for sailing weekends or week-long charters to explore the Solent and beyond.

The size of this boat is ideal for families and groups who want to experience some great sailing.

She is MCA coded and fully equipped with the appropriate navigation and safety gear. Should there be a chilly evening, Galaxy is centrally heated.
